Morning, Does anyone use these on their putters and what do you think?. Have they made a difference to your putting?

I tried two, the fatso and the slim 3.0.

The Fatso yielded good results on shorter putts, but I couldn't get a feel for it from long range. I also hated how it felt in my hands.

The Slim 3.0 is a nice compromise. Keeps hands a bit quieter, but doesn't kill the feel of the putter.

I also like the way they are not tapered, just a consistant width from top to bottom.

Don't think I would like the fat grips. One of the guys I played with over the weekend had the slim one and have to say that it felt good in the hands. I know it is a mind thing but might give it a try.

I had one of the ultra slim grips on my putter for about 3 rounds and it was horrible. I had no idea the grips are tapered backwards when i bought it..(the left hand being thinner than the right hand..its quite a big difference) It was terrible in wet conditions too,the material has no real tack in wet conditions. Waste of money to be honest.

I started using one about 5 weeks ago and I love it... People give out about the feel but for me personally I haven't felt like I have lost feel but I am way more confident from 10ft and in.

I have found my putting has improved massively in the last month but I have been using the Pelz putting aid also to ensure my aim/straight putting is also being worked on. Put one on my "other" putter to try them out, as I don't practice as much as I used to on my putting, I thought it would be worth the punt. I put the real thick one on, which was kinda silly as my hands are not that big...........any way I struggled with getting the pace of the putt right on all lengths, but my fault for putting on the big one. I'm trying the smaller one this week.

Yes and it would be fair to say it has revolutionized my putting - I used to be woeful but I'd consider myself half decent now :) I have a Metal X No.7 and it works brilliantly with this putter, haven't noticed any loss of feel.

I have an order in for the new Tank Cruiser putter with comes with a SS as the standard grip - can't wait to try it.

My Da and our other playing partner in our weekend group, got new grips. Not sure if its these ones, but fat grips. (Actually think it's Larkin come to think of it).

Not really sure how I feel towards them. A big part of me feels its all a gimmick, jumped on because Harrington had some fat grip. Considering he would use a Bananaa skin for a grip if Fyfes paid him enough, I'm skeptical.

I'd be weary changing anything about my putter at the moment, so looking on at these with a very skeptical eye

Just look at the number of players using them on both tours now - case closed

Got one. You do get an intial boost.

But like everything . Dips off then.

I think for me it was worth isolating the wrist action. As i could then remove one element that could go wrong.

    So it helped me.

I'm practicing putting way more. So hard to say if it was fat grip.
It is so fat it hardly fits in divider (lol).

The putter does lose feel. And your distance control changes.

It has taken me over a month to get distances back.

So . It really is a case of trying it. I think I'd only go to it is desperate.
    I was.

I'm only keeping tabs on it cause while I might be happy with my putting, which I am, I'm always interested in something that might make it better again.

There is always room for improvement, I'm just not convinced.

My Dad for example has a very obvious flaw in his putting, he boxes them. He doesnt follow through and stabs at his putts.

He got this new grip which is no way is gonig to fix that, but because he went out to practice loads to " get the feel for the new grip" I'm pretty certain the increased practice is what has helped him, not the grip.

He was ****e again putting on Sunday, and it was ALL down to him boxing putts.

What's the actual advertised purpose of those grips?

I remember thick grips were targeted to people suffering with certain conditions, and were a real " elderly" golfer thing. I'm perplexed as to why they are all the rage now.

It helps quiten the hands during the stroke..

I was really struggling with short/mid length putting (as in 3/4 putting at times) as I was getting back playing so I tested the fatter grip and have been putting time into my putting in recent weeks and the change is huge... I had 28 putts last week and when practicing my stroke feels solid and from 10ft and in I feel like I am threatening the hole. This has given me real confidence on the green (not saying it is all down to the grip but for me it feels really comfortable).

It maybe a gimmick but with the number of people on the PGA tour moving to them there might just be something in it if not no loss to be honest.

I cannot recommend this aid enough, it's the only real "aid" I have used and I love it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/PUTTING-TUTOR-PHIL-MICKELSON-TRAINING/dp/B007XL0A86/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400599746&sr=8-1&keywords=pelz+putting+tutor

No disrespect meant, but thats quite an unfair comment, Harrington is def not one of the Endorse anything for money guys, the Putter grip he was trying was the P2 Grip Which puts your hands in a higher position at adress a la Stricker.
Large putter grips have been around for years, Golf Pride Crown Jumbo springs to mind but lately with the brighter colours and a few high profile wins they are becoming increasingly more popular.
any hoo I'll have the slightly thinner one on this friday.......I expect HUGE THINGS!!

    Hi lads.

I'm trying to improve putting. I would'nt be the worst putter in the world, just looking to get a better feel on the greens with the flat stick. Had normal Odyssey grip on my Versa #1 for a while but wanted to try something different.

I switched to a Winn 1.6 large grip. I think it's improved my putting a small bit but hands don't feel 100% comfortable.

Now thinking of trying something inbetween. Maybe the Superstroke Flatso 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0.

Anyone used these and what ye think?

i got the super stroke slim 2.0 fitted a few months ago, and the change is massive, id safely say iv shaved at least 6-8 shots of my score..the big difference i find is inside 10 feet which is much more consistent..i wouldn't go back to a standard grip..
