what are your rules of thumb for buying off DHgate?

    1) what level of feedback would you want the supplier to have?

    2) What method of payment would you only use?

    3) what shipping methods do you go for?

    anything else to consider?

    thanks in advance

I use eBay on a regular basis and have bought from China and Hong Kong on a couple of occasions with no problems. I usually look for feedback of 99.8% or more if the seller has a large number of sales (5,000 +sales) if the seller has less sales than this I would settle for a slightly less feedback . Have a look at the sellers negative feedbacks and the reasons for these. Sometimes this can tell you a lot about the seller and his merchandise. If you are using Pay Pal to pay for your purchase you will be ok in the event of a problem. Hope this helps.

    Dhgate dont accept paypal anymore

EMS is best and fastest shipping

Feedback cannot be judged because many buyers dont leave feedback , but Dhgate is a well controlled website , and you will always get your money back in the event of non-delivery. But make sure you let the site know in time .
There is a processing time limit and a shipping time limit and if both are not adhered to by the seller , they will be penalised .

Google 'dhgate review' and click on the trust pilot link that comes up.

90+ reviews basically saying it's a rip off site and full of scammers. I'd steer well clear.

I've used various sellers on dhgate over the last few years and have had no problems.

Check their feedback, how long they've had their account etc.

Like any online marketplace, it has its scammers, but use common sense and you'll be fine.
