Disney Paris, realistic prices.

I see a few threads here already but most of them just seem to deal with flights and hotels etc. But I think we all know the small hidden costs are the ones that really catch you out.

So 3-4 nights, two adults and a child (who's not overly adventurous and wont want to go on too many rides), realistically speaking what kinda figures would you be looking at?

(Fingers crossed it can be done for under 1.5K :D )

Should be easily doable. Disney quite often do kids go free deals. Once you get into the parks you don't pay separately for the rides, it's all included. I think your stay is too long though, two nights is plenty.

Sometime they do 3 for the price of 2 deals. They may be worth considering. We found 2 full days in the parks to be good, 3 would've been better.
Rides are free once you're inside.
Bring your own food and drink, that'll save you a small fortune. They do scan bags, but it's more for security reasons and we didn't have any problems bringing own sandwiches. There's a huge mall only 20 mins away, where you can get everything you need.

I'd say stick with the three nights but spend the third day in Paris itself. With a conservative child you'll definitely get everything you want done in two visits to the park...

Two years ago we did a three night in one of the hotels just outside the park, two days in the park and one in Paris, two adults and two kids for ~€1000, but that didnt include travel costs..

If you know any French residents they should be able to buy park tickets much cheaper than you can from here - that way you can scour around for the cheapest hotel that your happy with.

The breakfasts in the Disney hotels are all buffet style, so we brought a backpack to the restaurant, and filled up with bread rolls, sliced ham, cheese and fruit. That took care of lunch in the park every day. We stayed for a week, so that was well worth doing.

We stayed in the Sequoia Lodge which is mid price in terms of the official hotels but you really only sleep there, so it suits that purpose. It works out cheaper to buy meal vouchers in your package rather than wander in and pay cash.

Ive also seen where some buy a years pass, so by tapering their holidays they get to visit this summer and next!

the prices though are insane, so I'll stick to the local fun parks + zoo year ticket which the 2 wee ones (2 & 4) find brilliant. Maybe for older kids you'd have reason to spend the cash Disney are asking.

This is what Im talking about. As much as we say we will only eat at the hotel we will end up buying candy floss / ice-creams etc in Disney. And then presumably there will be a Disney shop on site- which of course will end up having to buy a few bits there etc.

This is the kinda thing Im getting at. I can find lots of people giving figures for flights and hotels but I cant really find anybody saying that they went and the whole holiday came to X amount.

There isn't A Disney shop on site, there are tons of them, some rides force you to exit through a shop and then there's downtown Disney that you have to walk through and where the parades are

It's in the nearby town. It's 20-25 mins walk from Disney entrance.

They also have buses running there from outside disney/train station.

Yes, it may be true that you don't only eat sandwiches. However, if you have the main stuff bought for actual hunger, i.e. a sandwich, a drink, a candy bar and an apple. Then you don't need to go into the cafes/restaurants where kids are likely to want A, B and C with their burger, chips and coke.
Just get a candy floss as a treat here, and maybe a lollipop there. Still less than the whole dining out experience.

try this site for the tickets. We got good value last year. These are rates for "locals" but sure we are all locals!

We booked a hotel 3 stops away by train near the train station and mall with supermarket for 50 eur a night for a triple room (please see google maps), week = €350.
Breakfast and lunch and snacks = food from supermarket bought every morning on our way to train station incl fresh pastries, rolls, ham etc. = maybe €20 each day plus coffee at Disney.
Park tickets = annual tickets bought at the gate of the park at €119 per person. =€357 for 3. To get this price first 2 days after the initial day are blackout days. So we travelled by train to Paris instead for those 2 days.
Total cost 350+140+357 for a week including 5 days at Disney. Other costs are train, flights, transfers, dinners and soveniers/snacks.
You may have dinners at McDonalds next to Disney at about same price as here if you like.
We have passes valid for a year, so we would make another trip before they expire. You will also get 10% discout on food, drinks and soveniers at Disney with annual pass.
