Haven't seen wool rolled in years.Remember doing it years ago as a kid and auld lads telling you how to do it correctly.Bit of a knack to doing it quickly until you got used to it.
Most merchants only want it in packs nowadays and won't take loose wool or give less for it.

Bundle it up and throw it in the pack, rolled years ago and the only concession I'd make nowadays is bundling it inside out but give me a decent price for it and I'll even gift wrap it !

Used to roll it as well when I was small. I remember the rolling being done to a very exacting standard. All rolls neatly piled up, you could build a wall with nearly :)

We just throw it into big bags now, and that's it...

I roll it . Find it handy to throw bundles into to trailer and out again at the merchant . No wool pack needed.

forget rolled or not rolled, just have the stuff grand and dry, then you'll have no merchant knocking or moaning about the stuff. Apparently you'd be surprised how often these guys are presented with "damp stuff". A shearer once told me to put the damp stuff at the end of the sack and the dry on top. The merchant will never notice !! I never took his advice though, as I prefer to able to go back to the same merchant year after year with a good name.

we used to roll(hands would be full of thorns after) but one year 3 shearers arrives(usually 2) and we could just manage to keep the wool away from them + keep the sheep up to them.
Now we loosely roll and into a pack/big feed bag
