Writing to Revenue

I'm going to be writing to my local district to claim split year relief as I have emigrated, I know I can wait till the end of the year and get it done easily but to be honest I need the money now.

This thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056305970 mentions that you can write to them and claim the relief. What details should I be giving in the letter? I reckon my PPS number, date of birth and my old and new addresses might be enough, but I'm not sure, can anyone clarify?

    Thanks

You do it on a P50 - google it and you can download one.

Read my post! You will have seen that I quoted your stickied thread, I'm asking about what specifically should be included with the letter, as I'm sure from my previous dealings with revenue that it's not just a simple case of sending a letter and that's it! :pac:

So, just the p50 and covering letter? Want to get it right first time as I'm under pressure for money at the moment.

Form P50. Parts 2 and 3 of your P45. Cover letter if you want, however everything you want to say in the cover letter you will have said in the form P50 by completing it correctly. Make sure your bank account details are correct on the form.

Just following up on this, any estimate of how long revenue will take to process a repayment?

It depends on the staffing resources in the office dealing with your request and their workload. It could take a few weeks to process.
