We are coming to contract renewal with sky and I am interested on any alternatives. We are big into the shows on living so would like that at least

stay for sky for pay tv, none of the sky tv channels are with e-vision

get 2 other satellite connections for for freesat and get an outdoor tv aerial for 3 connections for saorview

Ive had an eircom rep call to my door selling e-vision and to be honest im better off with Sky.

I would advise anyone considering e-vision to look at the channels they offer because they dont have Sky One, Sky Living or Sky Sports News.

Evision reduces your broadband speed so be careful

TBH to my mind it's either Free-to-air with netflix or Sky.

UPC's equipment is a pile of rubbish and e-vision is a bad idea. It slows down your internet connection, relies on only one delivery method and crappy eircom equipment.

Phone in, don't be a tool to the person on the other end of the phone, and see if you can negotiate a deal.

E-Vison is rubbish, if your lucky enough to get Fibre Broadband, Eircom takes a large chunk of your attainable connection speed to be made available for the operation of E-Vision and puts you on a lower broadband speed so that both E-vision and broadband works fine.

Many channels are available free to air through an aerial with all Irish channels nationwide and BBC 1-4, ITV 1,2,4, Channel 5, Channel 4, E4, Film 4 and quite a few other channels avaiable free to air with a basic aerial in parts of eastern Ireland and northern Ireland. All these free to air channels are available nationwide through a satellite dish. If it's Sky channels your after (exception being Sky News) then you have to have a Sky dish and sky subscription, or UPC Cable. I think E-Vision only offers a very small number of Sky/ Pay channels for it's packages.
