Hi all, I have received a little cheque from Revenue for 3,000. Decided for a timepiece treat ! Thinking something classic looking. Elegant. Longines perhaps? Suggestions welcome

If you want something a bit exclusive for the money and beautiful (and are very patient) you should just scrape in at the list price for a Dornblueth 99.0, here's a thread with some pictures on it (although he hasn't managed to capture the blued hands very well)

If you don't want to wait that long or spend that much, how about stowa marine chronograph.

Or how about a Sinn Financial District Watch.

You probably need to give us an idea of what size you want, how important mechanical vs quartz is, and what functions you want, otherwise you are going to get a lot of random suggestions.

The stowa style seems nice. Leather strap etc.
