With all the talk recently about Gerry being brought in by the police on account of the recordings carried out by the Boston College I was wondering if the good people of boards.ie have read the book and what they thought of it. I didnt think much of Brendan Hughes half but the David Ervine half was really interesting. He seemed to be one of the better politicans the north has produced who really seen the benefit of working together despite his initial reasons for joining the UVF

Did not read the book, but there was a very good TV documentary on it a few years back.

I have always respected Irvine's pragmatism and he came across very well in the show

David Ervine was too smart to fall for the guff about that supposed "historical" Boston college scheme. He didnt say anything that was not already on public record or anything he would not say in any ordinary interview.

His widow is a very decent person
