Anyone fancy doing some training together, finding it tough going to train alone... First timer so I'm not superfast but I am friendly!

Female, and most likely not as my bike is a cheapy!

If there is a few people who fancy getting together that would be great ... Because its dangerous to meet strangers on the internet and all ;)

Swords is a good location for long spins out to north county Dublin and Meath

Lads I did it last year for the first time, its not exactly the Giro or anything, did 3 or 4 Saturday spins of 40kms and it did me fine. Think ppl watching too much Eurosport

Dude, I am mid 40's and packing a bit extra of weight. I think a couple of 40k spins is not the best advice around

Not the best training for endurance the park though is it?

I "trained" for 3 months, two longer spins before ROK
There is no need to panic, you'll be just fine
Take breaks as often as you need, drink PLENTY of water and enjoy the scenery
This is charity event with amazing crowd of people so just have fun

It's handy for me, a circuit is over 10k, so can get a long spin In and if I new to head home I'm never far.

    What makes you say that?

You don't need to be doing long cycles for the ROK, just get some distance in as often as possible.

Ah but I am new to cycling, carrying too much weight and would prefer not to collapse around it so I think training might be helpful!

Chalk me down when I move, days and times should not be an issue.

Evenings (6.30pm or later if it suits people) maybe Tues or Wednesdays? If we pick a night a week every week and aim for 30-40km (not sure you could do more than night on a week night and whoever is interested pm me your email and I will email round? We could even end up going for a drink\ water if people have time after
