Hi, anybody know the most likely place a stolen bike might end up? Bike nicked yesterday on O'Connell St, Dublin. From all accounts bike not likely to remain near where it was stolen for more than a week.

I won't name it here. I'm sure a google search along the lines go 'stolen bikes market Dublin' would be of interest to you though.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It hasn't appeared on donedeal, adverts or gumtree. I have irrefutable proof of ownership.
Cops and Halfords have both been very sound. Bike is insured but some staff more clued in than others.
I am going to start a campaign to get the websites to force sellers to list serial numbers. Might be a drop in the ocean, but every little helps.

That's an interesting idea. You should get on to your local TD about it.

If you ask for this thread to be moved to the Cycling forum, you may get further input on where to look for your bike.

I will copy it over later. I think the idea is of interest and on topic for both forums.

It has now been reopened for the purposes of listing serial numbers on classified sites. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057214691
