    Hey guys and gals,

Hope this is an ok place to ask. Basically, my mother picked up a packet of cheap Marigolds a little while back, planted them...and they haven't exactly grown up to be what she was expecting, based on usual expectations. Told her that if she wanted, I'd throw some pictures online and see what other people with more experience thought she had in her possession now.

(Link for pictures cause they are pretty big...)

Anyone any ideas? That's 2 months after they were planted as seeds. There's no sign of any "flowers" or anything...

Would appreciate any guidance and thanks in advance :)

Not any marigold that I've ever seen.

One thing I can say is that you have slugs looking at some of the leaves. The little bugger is possibly still in the pot, 3rd picture at 3 o'clock.

Its still a bit early for flowers, but they are not marigolds. They are a bit like stocks leaves, but they are very big.

+1 calendula and just a few more weeks away from begining to flower.
There are quite a few plants in the pot, might be worth thinning out/transplanting a few as the compost will dry out very quick as the plants mature and compete for water.

Ah yes! They kept saying marigold to me but I was rejecting them because I had african marigolds(Tagetes) in mind.
