Can a verbal caution in which name address and personal details were taken by Gardai, but no official caution given in writing or no arrests or prosecutions made, be found during Garda vetting and can it harm someones chances of being allowed work as a primary school teacher?

No. Putting your name in his notebook is often a frightener but unless there is a conviction it wont be mentioned on vetting.

This is incorrect.

An unsuccessful prosecution will be shown on the vetting. So if you are found not guilty of murder it will still show that the state unsuccessfully prosecuted you.

So if someone goes to the Garda, makes a complaint about you, even if it's not true that shows up on Garda vetting?

Can that be correct?

I'm not too sure about info like that, 'soft' info.

But, if you go to court for a crime and you are found not guilty or acquitted, that will show up on the vetting as an unsuccessful prosecution.

So that could show up on mine? It was basically a drunken night out and someone made a false complaint about me but then retracted it! I was never contacted about it, but my name and address was given!

Would this show up on it? Seems madness if it did!
