Existing Water Meters

I have wondered if any allowances have been made in the regs regarding those premises which already have water meters fitted.

To explain ...... some 'private schemes' were taken over by Co. Councils over the past decades, and as I understand it, the 'take-over' required that all connections must have meters fitted beforehand.

Those meters were put in and the cost born directly by the householder/owner of premises.

Anyone any ideas what the situation is regarding such meters?

    Will they be accepted?
Will there be some allowance/deduction for those households who have such meters?

Is there any information about this situation out there?

    Thanks.
