New PCP car or Second hand

    So Ive got about 10k hard cash that I can use to purchase a second hand car or alternatively use that money towards a deposit on a PCP deal (25k range)

    My commute will be from Newbridge to Sandyford 5 days a week and the rest is town driving. Im 33 single male and enjoy a bit of speed but prefer very nice / comfortable interior.

    After a bit of research I was thinking a 1.6 diesel WV Golf Highline for the PCP.

    Any thoughts on other cars, specs I should consider for the PCP or am I smarter to just pick up a second hand car with 10K? If so what make model would you suggest.

    Thanks guys!

    Paying interest on a depreciating asset is never a prudent move but some will argue too that putting your own money into a car that could be used for something else is not the wisest move either. Choice is down to you at the end of the day.

    The question you really need to ask yourself is, will a brand new €25k MkVII Golf benefit you any better than say a €10k 2010 MkVI Golf?

    Personally if spending €10k I'd have a look at the Hyundai i30 or Kia Ceed instead. Doesn't carry the same level of euphoria as Golf but they are better equipped, more bhp and have a longer warranty.

    I do like these, but probably out of reach (A class AMG)

    Personally I think the C'eed looks fantastic;

    Kia+Pro_cee'd+GT+(2013)+Side.jpg

    7 year warranty, much improved interior(still not on the level of VW but not bad).

    Take one for a spin and consider it at least, imo.

    the similarities between that and the A class are uncanny!
