    Hi all,

I have a problem with dry skin on the sides of my nose. It's only apparent when I wear make up, as the make up clings to it and shows it up in all its glory.

I've had this before and used a scrub on that area only and it got rid of the dry, flaky skin but lately absolutely nothing it getting rid of it.

I've tried putting coconut oil on the area and leaving it on overnight, I've tried other scrubs and they don't help, I've tried lathering extra moisturiser on the area and again, it didn't work.

It's horrid looking and I really want to get rid of it ASAP. Are there any products (scrubs, masks, creams, washes etc) that you can recommend to get rid of it? I don't have this problem anywhere else on my face, only just on those areas.

I'd really appreciate any help and suggestions as its really getting me down.

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream maybe? You could try get a sample to see if it works

Also maybe change you're cleanser, it could be too harsh, I'm a fan of hot cloth cleansers, that and oil cleansers are very good for dryer skin

I tried that EA cream and like the other it didn't do anything :(

I use this Garnier cleanser and toner

I've also used this a few times lately to remove make up

I mostly use this though for removing make up

I really hope I haven't to go changing my skin care products again :( I will have a look at other cleansers and see what I can find :)

Lrp and Vichy do loads of samples it may be that you need to use the cicaplast serum which is used to repair skin after chemical peels I'd suggest you try that it is the best thing for skin that's not repairing itself !!!

I'm not sure if it's connected but I also use that garnier misceller cleanser, started about 4 weeks ago but would mot use every day....I would sometimes use Elave cleanser. The thing is I've developed a very painful dry patch of dry skin over my eye, sorta circular...not itchy but feels sort of raw like sunburn. It' s been there 3 weeks now and peeled this morning and actually bled a little when I removed the skin
I was going to go to a doctor to get a referral for dermatologist on monday but wondering now if the garnier cleanser is the cause

I love coconut oil but it does nothing for my face, it's like it doesn't sink in, I know a few people who swear by putting it on their face and then putting a hot wet face cloth on their skin to let it soak in but that did nothing for me either.

For dry patches Vichy nutrilogie 2 is brilliant, you should be able to get a sample of that easily.

Thanks so much everyone for the recommendations, I should add, I have combination skin, but its only on the sides of my nose that the skin is dry and flaky. I will definitely be checking out all the products recommend here, thanks again.

Funny you should mention this because a few weeks ago I had the same thing on my brow bones, but it didn't peel, it just kinda flaked off, but it was grand after a few days.

I honestly can't remember if I stopped using the Garnier water on my face that time and if I switched to the oil make up remover or if I continued with the Garnier water.

I think I will give up the Garnier water for a few weeks and just use an oil make up remover and see if anything changes.
