There's a panel beater/spray painter located at the back of The Ranch in Inchicore/Ballyfermot whose prices are quite low and I was wondering if anyone here has ever used him and what his work was like?

Low prices are 99% of the time a bad sign, I would actually say 99.99% of the time

I know nothing about that crowd but a classic trap you can fall into with a low quote is that halfway through the job they will 'discover' some hidden damage to the steering or an axle or the suspension that they didn't/couldn't spot on the initial inspection and suddenly the price goes by a grand or two so I would never accept the lowest quote from a body shop, there's usually a very expensive 'gotcha' around the corner.

    It's just a paint job I need.

What's a decent rate for painting a panel on a car - e.g. quarter panel, wing, or whatever?

All depends on whether its a straight paint or there is damage.

I have a replacement wing I want to fit so it's a straight paint (metallic black)

Prices will vary from 200 to 500 depending on the guy and the finish. The wing might stand out if its only painted generally the door would be needed to be blended as well to make it look well.

You tell me whats a good price?

I know a lad that will paint for 125 a panel, I wouldn't let him paint a wall.

I would have thought 200 - 250 per panel is about right.

I'll do it for 50. Do you want matt or emulsion metallic black? Brush or roller? Your choice.

Sure if you know the price that's sound.
