Declaring car off road after VRT payment!

    Hi,

I VRT'd a Focus in February 2014 and it has been in storage ever since.

When I VRT'd the car I got my car reg number along with a RF100 form.
On the RF100 form there is a section where I can declare the car off road, like was previous the case before it changed.

    My question,

Can I still declare my car off the road, despite I not declaring it off road in advance?? I intend to tax the car now and if I get it stamped/signed by a Garda and go to the Tax office, will they be okay with this?

Are VRT'd imported cars different, as from the RF100 form it seems to be?

    Any advice much appreciated!

You can no longer get any form signed by a Garda in respect of declaring a car off the road. If it wasn't SORDnd any arrears must be paid.

Sorry It is actually a RF100 form

Hope you can get it here

    file:///C:/Users/admin/Downloads/rf100-vehicle%20(1).pdf

    or google RF100

It specifically says that the form is to apply for a motor tax disc that has already been registered by the Revenue Commissioners.

    Maybe I'm in luck?

You'd do well to read the form.
If you are not using the vehicle immediately following registration, you should not complete this Form. Instead, you should
complete Form RF150 – Declaration of Non-Use of a Motor Vehicle and submit it to your motor tax office within 10 days of
    registration of the vehicle
. You should retain this form for first taxing of the vehicle following the period of non-use.

As you did neither, you're now liable for arrears since Feb.
