Have my s4 connected to my Samsung hdtv but when I choose media play for pictures or videos, it says no files found.. do I have to store the files in a certain folder? Thanks

I don't think most HDTVs can read the MTP protocol Samsung uses on their phones. Its not like a USB stick.

Pick up a MHL to HDMI cable, way better. Just mirrors what's on your phone screen

Is your Samsung TV one of those Samsung Smart TV? Has apps, skype, youtube connects to your Wifi etc

I think there is an app called AllShare that is on your S4 and if you have a Samsung Smart TV you should be able to project your mobile screen to the Smart TV

Another option is to get one of those Android TV boxes and view through that.
