Anyone here used or bought one of these GCW Zero handhelds ?

They had successful kickstarter launch last year and lot of promise of great things at the start. There are some very good emulators available, just wondered in interest has petered out or if there is still a thriving dev community behind it.

It seems like a good enough piece of hardware and would probably do me fine, my emulation needs would stop before the N64/PSX era, but struggling to find out how well it performs with Mame.

At about €150, its kinda pricey just for GameGear emulation :)

I think things are rocky enough with it honestly. They shot themselves in the foot personally going with a mips processor instead of arm and they haven't even finished sending out all the kickstarter units yet.
I actually ordered a GPD-G5A which should be coming in a few weeks so I'll let you know how I got on with that.

Ya the MIPS is falling further behind the ARM/Android scene alright but I think they were building something to run Linux (Dingux) rather than Android.
I'm not sure if a 'slow' MIPS is really an issue, once it runs the 8/16 bit stuff good now well it should be ok. The layout and screen size do appeal to me a lot more then the other clones.

I know there are plenty of Android handhelds popping up, JXD's etc but they all seem to be mini tablets or PSP clones.
