I'm doing self study on this subject and would be very interested to know if any tips were given by independents colleges for this exam.

I got these tips from opentuition

ACCA P1 June 2014 Exam tips

Q1 5 part 50 mark question touching on risk, ethics, environment, internal controls with 16 – 18 marks for drafting a report / briefing notes / press release / magazine article
Q2 Corporate governance with internal auditors and internal controls. Risk management committee, mitigation (according to a recent SA article, risk
management and a sound system of internal control are “inextricably intertwined”)
Q3 Sub-committees under corporate governance, their roles, functions, objectives, make up
Q4 Kohlberg and attitudes to ethics compared with Gray, Owen and Adams and their 7 sub-categories
    OR! Accountancy as a profession
    OR! Deontology and teleology
Be prepared to need to use a calculator in the exam
    Please Note
Tips should not be relied on – they are only intelligent guesses.
Their only purpose is to give you suggestions for topics to concentrate on in your last few days of preparation. Do not exclude other topics from your overall preparation.

My only tip - do not question spot. Be able to do all the papers from at least the past five sittings.
I sat this at christmas and self studied. Easy paper. Everything you have there should be known, but there's plenty besides. There's a lot of stuff you'll remember from audit that is relevant to the answers you'll give.

    Thanks Optimistic..

Just going through past exam question's and reports now. It seems to be very much applying what is presented to you on the day..

I must admit time seems to be the biggest issue for me in answering these questions. Were you caught for time in the exam?
