It's coming around to that time of year again and time to start thinking about the Peoples Photography annual exhibition at the end of August.

Keep a eye on the website for updates and give us a follow on the twitter machine @peoplesphoto

As usual the boardsies can have space to themselves if they wish - just pop your name down here if you want to exhibit as part of a boards group. Always good fun!

I don't think I'll make it this year as it's now on the same weekend as Electric Picnic. I was really looking forward to doing this again too.:(

Applications for Peoples Photography are now open to the public so get your name down. http://peoplesphotography.ie/?page_id=862http://

The price has been reduced too so a bit of good news.

You'll get an idea based on last year's photos here.

I had 20 x 8x12" prints on display and had some others to the side that I would alternate from time to time to change it up a bit.

There's no set amount of pics to display. Put up whatever you feel like. I'd love to see someone take a full space and display one 4 x 6" in the centre - it would certainly generate a lot of interest!

Been tempted to do exactly that, but I'm basically too lazy

They used to be when there was more interest but last year's response from here was poor and this year seems to be non existent.

If there was a few boardsies wanted to be put together it wouldn't be a problem - just mention that you're with Boards.ie on your application.

I got a mail two weeks ago that the allocations should be up on the new website soon - can't find them yet. Any idea if that's still planned?
Would be nice to know who would be where - hoping to make it into town over the weekend with my guests....

    What space were you allocated?

St. Stephen's Green today - I didn't bring a camera so my new S5 was pressed into action!

I went along for a look on Saturday and I was surprised by the low numbers exhibiting. If they were all bunched together, I'd say the spots wouldn't even have filled the North facing side. I wonder why this was? They can't all have been at Electric Picnic. And camera ownership has never been higher, apparently.

Having said that, there were some very good exhibits, Karl Gaff's scanning electron microscope creations and starscapes by a guy who's name I forgot to ask (sorry, whoever you were!), these were the standout stuff for me.

Roll on next year though, when I might hopefully have enough to show and get back in the game myself!

Sorry for not replying earlier! Was't around here for over a week due to visitors and we went into town on Friday so didn't get a chance to have a look around. So as you probalby realised I didn't exhibit this year
