Just wondering if those on JB placement are eligible for this scheme, provided the host company is signed up to it.

Please move to Work&Jobs/Transport if appropriate.

JobBridge interns are not employees and therefore pay no tax, prsi, usc nor does company pay prsi for them, so inclusion in company's Taxsaver ticket arrangments would not be possible.

However, if you are sent on training courses etc., as part of your internship, you should get that travel cost covered by the host organization.

Out of pocket expenses - There is nothing to prevent a host organisation reimbursing an intern for expenses incurred as part of the internship. However, expenses should not be provided for normal activities such as travel to and from the intern's base and normal expenditure incurred on a day to day basis

Does anyone know if paid interns can avail of the taxsaver scheme or do you have to be an 'employee'?

    Thanks!
