    Hi guys,

I currently operate the below GPU in my system.

    https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-226-MS

I got myself a new Motherboard and case recently, and noticed the lovely empty space sitting where a second GPU could go :)

I always heard and "believed" the rule of thumb that one good graphic card was better then two lower end ones.

I'm wondering if that still is the case.

My system is performing flawless. The games I'm playing are Diablo 3, Wow, Lol and Battlefield4. None of them have a problem at the moment, are running optimal the way I want.

Just for the general sake of upgrades that I do every summer, toying with the idea of SLI. Assuming I need to buy a second of the same card, which retails for about€180-200 I'm wondering if I'll get real bang for my buck.

Another concern is possibly having to replace my PSU which ramps up the cost of the upgrade and the effort involved.

No real budget here, no real problem to address, just idly pondering the idea , would love convincing :)

If your PSU can handle it then yes. If you have to upgrade your PSU there is no point. Have a look at some benchmarks.

    Be Crossfire not sli.

If your PSU is a 600w 80plus with 2x 2 6 pin PCI Express with detachable 2 pin you will be ok.

I'm comfy enough with how it works.

More interested to know if its worth it...and good bang for my buck

You would get higher performance than a 280x but not as good as a 290.

Look at the wattage of the cards most of all. Nothing spikes your ESB bill like a second gfx.
I have Sli 280gtx's simply because I didnt have the cash for a higher end card, and it is a fine setup for the games I play.

At the end of the day, some games love sli, some dont care for it. Look Here For Examples of the increases.
