Translating name from irish to english

    Hi I'm just wondering if anyone could help.
    I have applied for a course at a Uni in London but they are asking for something official with name in irish as that is what is on my leaving ceritificate. My degrees are printed in English as are all my other forms of ID.

    The only thing I could think of was if there was a way to get the name on my leaving cert translated. any ideas? Thanks

    Would a letter from your school principal confirming the translation be sufficient? Out of interest, why is your name in Irish on your LC if you never use the Irish version? I only ask as technicalities like that can haunt you!

    Hi thanks. Got in contact with the school today so hoping a letter will be fine.
    I come from a gaeltacht so my name has always been in irish at school as everybody in gaelscoils are. I've never had a problem with it until now and went to uni in Northern Ireland.

    They might accept Form ML10 'Resident Personal Customers, Certification of Identity' signed and stamped by Garda.
