He means is it illegal to accept a Hailo job while driving; he just appears to be a tad drunk while so enquiring. Hopefully he's not in charge of his taxi at this particular time.

As regards the law:

3. In these Regulations—
“read a text message” includes access or open a text message (other than by
voice-activation) so that it can be read;
“send a text message” includes compose and type a text message, but does not
include anything done without touching the mobile phone;
“SMS” and “MMS” have the meanings assigned to them by Regulation 2(1) of
the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and
Services) (Framework) Regulations 2011 (S.I. No. 333 of 2011);
“text message” includes an SMS, an MMS message and an email.
4. A person shall not while driving a mechanically propelled vehicle in a
public place—
(a) send a text message, or
(b) read a text message,
from a mobile phone

Hailo is pretty much completely illegal now while driving, as it involves accessing a message displayed in text. My interpretation of the fact that text message "includes" SMS/MMS/E-Mail means that it's also designed to take in other apps which display text (Viber/Skype, etc) and probably includes the likes of Hailo in the eyes of the Judge.

Eh drunk! no..... I was just bemused as to how that argument could come up in the first place! like, if Hailo users where allowed to read data on their phone..... Well then, it would make that particular law 'an ass'.. Am I right kid?:cool:
