Hi I bought a 08 Renault Trafic a few months ago and it came with a Parot hands free kit installed in it. I have never been able to use it because when I try make a call or go through the settings there is a terrible buzzing noise coming through the speakers. It mutes the raido automatically when I try make a call through the Bluetooth. This evening when I was driving I pressed it and the second a it said settings it made the buzzing noise but I notice the speedo stopped during it. I tried it a fee times and every time the speedo stopped.

Anyone have any ideas? I would like to hr able to use it

Did you try restoring to factory settings?
Pull the plug on the unit?
    check connections?

Maybe try a software update failing that try it in a different car.
After that you are in replacement car kit territory

I don't have the USB cable to connect it to the PC to update it

whats the exact model number on the kit?

You connect the laptop via Bluetooth, it pairs up like a phone. Check the mic cable as it sounds like it's wrapped around the speedo somewhere, software update will probably do nothing, just trace the cable.

The mic seems to be hidden somewhere because I can't see it to be honest

It's there somewhere, above your head or near the door, find the parrot box and trace it from there...probably hiding behind the radio

The mics are built into the screen. Also the correct model number is parrot 3200 ls

The mic is separate it's not built into the screen. Look again.

Its built into the screen. Two mics built into it. Here's a link confirming there built in http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/topic/100459-parrot-3200-ls-colour-plus-microphone-level/

There not built in, they may be attached to it depending on what way it was installed but there seperate and have their own dedicated cable.

See here how it's wired http://parrotcontact.emencia.net/website/user-guides/download-user-guides.php?pdf=ck3200/CK3200_Quick-start-guide_UK-FR-SP-DE-IT-NL-PT.pdf

I think your better off dropping into an installer as your not familiar with them.

It's bluetooth, you don't need to. Just use a laptop or your phone.

It worked on current software developed a buzzing fault upgrading the software won't fix a wiring problem.

Those kits are wired into radio wiring often a adaptor harness is used to match radio connections to bluetooth kit.

Pull out the radio and check the wiring as there is a short or wired incorrectly if it is stopping the speedo working.

What would be obvious to look for apart from a loose connection or wire?

Would the wiring cause the buzzing noise?

If they used a harness adaptor it may not be fully pushed in

this adapter fits between radio and car wiring

if they hard wired the bluetooth to radio wiring it might be poorly done or most likely they connected on to the wrong wire.

If its been hard wired you need wiring diagram for both radio and bluetooth so you can check each connection is correct.

If you look in and it just looks like a mass of wiring and you can't make sense of it call around and get an auto electrician to sort it out.

Because your speedo is reacting to phone use I strongly suspect it bad wiring. Either its shorting or wired incorrectly.

It seems to be wired in with a wiring harness. I have took all the connections apart and put them back together and the buzz noise remains.

I have attached a photo of all the wiring

just did a little google search and it appears the speedo problem is with the mute wiring being on wrong connector.

    http://forum.parrot.com/english/viewtopic.php?id=9258

that is the problem with the speedo

buzzing sound not sure what that is

the wiring connectors look to be ok in photo

That's great on the speedo so. I'll change it to a different mute and see what happens but I do know even I change to a different mute the buzzing sound is still there :-(

I also couldn't find a single loose connection and defiantly no wire going off anywhere for a microphone

Follow the mike connection from the plug

I have highlighted it in photo

That runs right to the screen. It's got a USB connection on the other end and goes into the screen

on some models the mic is in the screen or there will be a socket for the mic in the screen

on your model I think the mic is build into the display unit

You could try getting in touch with parrot
they should be able to confirm where the mic is

yes it appears that if there is a separate mic it plugs into 3.5mm socket where the display plugs in. if no 3.5mm socket fitted then the mic is built into the display

Ya that's what I found as well and there is defo no place for mic to be plugged into mine

I change to a different mute and the speedo doesn't stop now so now all I need to do is figure out how to stop the buzzing noise
