Flights to Los Angeles. Are they ever cheap last minute?

    I'm supposed to go to LA in July. I checked last month and the flights were about €650. Now they have gone up to over €1000.

    Are there ever better deals in the week(s) before or is this as good as its going to get?

    Travelling around the 8th, coming back around the 16th. That's return. Thanks

    The best options from checking a lot of carriers are:
    United 1,039
    Air Canada 1,079
    BA 1,091
    American 1,099

    Everybody is around the same so can't see any drops. United is a good carrier flying to the US.

    I'd only use them going direct.

    Their planes are old and are prone to mechanical problems which leads to delays which means missed connections.
