No, its the bog standard screw that seats and retains the spring guide in a fixed position.

Any chance of a pic.? Cause normally spring guide has 2 small lugs that hold it in place when the gearbox is closed up..

Your in the right place, but not exactly. On the outside, upper, rear of the gearbox when fully assembled - there is an opening directly behind where the spring guide is seated for a screw to be threaded into the back of the spring guide to aid in the spring guides' rigidity and support to the spring.

    Hey mate,

Technically that screw-hole is just for the screw that holds a stock, or stock-tube in place, I think it is an M5 size thread but I could be wrong.
The spring guide is held in place by the 2 lugs on the back edge of the spring guide.

My spring guide has some movement, its a SHS bearing spring guide and it seats very snugly into the gearbox but i would rather secure it to the rear to avoid "unpleasantness" down the road.....
    Heres a pic..........

    Jimmy mate,

It is a Scar, not an M4.

Not too sure if they have a screw as standard, Would have expected a screw to go through from the back of the Hinge for the stock to be honest.

Its an AGM, i completely stripped it down and the only thing stock is the shell!! The main body was glass bead blasted with the rails, and all are being baked in Duracoat right this minute.
I had a DBoys SCAR before this and it had the screw, I'm just thinking about durability down the road, i like buying guns i can refurbish into what i call "skirmish hardened" guns, upgrade the crap out of the internals, and Duracoat the externals!
