Hi. Have arranged to meet a seller on Adverts to buy a galaxy s4. The seller has said its one month old and it is an upgrade. Reason for selling is that the seller needs the money. Phone is on vodafone and I am a vodafone prepay customer. Any tips or what should I look out for? Will buying an upgrade be a problem? Thanks for any help

You can see is the knox flag tripped. Would show if a custom rom was installed at some stage. Will you have the receipt given to you? Just in case it ever gets reported stolen. Can you ring vodafone with the imei, or would they only give info to the owner of the handset?

Dont think a receipt is available. How would you check the knox flag? Im not sure with regards to the imei

It's just by rebooting into recovery mode, and looking at a entry. More info here. http://omegadroid.co/wanted-knox-void-warranty-0x1/

Can be quite risky buying a second hand phone as the seller may report it stolen after the transaction has taken place so they can claim off their insurance if they have any, rendering the phone useless as a phone, but makes for a very expensive mp3 player. You'll have absolutely no comeback on it.

Worth maybe putting a few more quid together and buying from a shop instead, just for peace of mind.

They're about 290 sterling on scan.co.uk at the moment. I'd go down that road purely for peace of mind and the fact that you can insure it etc. It's probably only about 50 quid extra
