Pay day comes around, you know you have a quiet few weeks/month ahead with absolutely zero on, your mates are all busy, no weddings/christenings/birthdays etc and have no major outgoings.
    Happy days!

You know you have a few bob to play around with...
So. How to the men of TGC treat yourselves??

Maybe most of you will save it, but i tend to look at these occasions as an opportunity to buy myself a wee treat :) (I dont include bring the future Mrs Slattsy out to dinner as my treat per say)

For me, its a quality bottle of scotch.
I wander up to the Celtic Whiskey shop after work and spend 30 mins there sampling a few different ones. I love my life when i get a new bottle.

Interested what you guys do :)

I collect horror movie dvd's and/or horror movie memorabilia.

Now when I say horror movie dvd's I don't mean ones you would walk into HMV and pick up, I collect limited edition, signed, out of print or other rare versions.

I've spent a silly amount of money on them over the years however there is a massive demand for some of them and of the ones I've bought most would be worth the same to another collector as I paid for them, and a lot would be a lot more than I bought them for.

About 2 years ago I sold 2 dvd's, both of which cost me less than €30 each for a combined €560.

I've eased back on the purchases of late but now and again I trawl eBay or a couple of other sites to see what I can dig up.

Usually either buy myself something golf related or a new piece of tech!

I usually head into town early on a Saturday morning and treat myself to a nice breakfast and a decent coffee. I then have a look around the shops and might purchase some new clothes. To top it off, a good haircut and a nice bottle of booze or some craft beers to start a Saturday night on the town.

A few bottles of suds, a thai takeaway curry and an asian horror movie. I am easily pleased.

I used to buy vinyl alot but haven't in a while now.

    Hah.

One of them was a notoriously hard to find one that hadn't actually gotten released officially, I'd just got it directly from the maker in Argentina.

It had gained huge interest in the underground horror world so when a guy in Germany offered me €300 for it I couldn't refuse.

The kicker for him is that it got released last year and is available for about 25 squids!

Sitting in watching a box set, Indian take away.

Doesn't sound like much, but for me it's great.

For a major treat, some new gadgets.

Usually new clothes or a night out with friends which doesn't happen to often these days.

I like to indulge in purchasing exotic hardwoods to make things on my lathe. Sometimes I like to get some nice beers and get some for my brother too, then we drink them together and play dark souls.

Go to the Lighthouse cinema and drink them out of red wine.

    There's always something worth watching.

    Nice thread idea Slattsy!

I tend to buy items I can use around the house. My next paycheck I'm hoping to pick up a handheld hoover for cleaning the car and giving the room a quick once over to help keep it tidy.

    Nice little Saturday!

Depending on mood and circumstance, my treats would generally be:

    - Holiday to somewhere far away (usually California)
    - Holiday to somewhere nearby (usually Poland)
    - New suit
    - Smaller clothing related item (nice jacket, cufflinks etc)
    - Bottle of Irish whiskey or bourbon
    - New board game
    - Something from Stock that I don't really need
    - Cup of take-out coffee

Just remembered some other items... power tools for my wood working obsession. Currently looking at dust extractors, all the pretty and useful items :(

Booking city breaks or holidays abroad really are my big ticket treat spends.

I socialise on the town with friends about once a week and love it but do that to keep my sanity rather than see it as an occasional treat so I tend to factor that as part of my weekly expenditure. I enjoy buying clothes too but apart from suits or jackets, I would not spend over €100 on any individual clothing item.

I bought a new Edwin Jagger DE razor and some nice nice shaving creams and soaps yesterday. I'm fond of city breaks, holidays and gadgets too.

For me it has to be a decent Thai massage. Please no snickering! I go for the proper Royal Thai massage where they fold you into different shapes for an hour. Feel like a brand new man afterwards... ;)

Good bottle of brandy and a bottle of port. 2:1 ratio of port:brandy. Decent crystal glass, nice quiet room. Just bliss.

And where do you go to meet him or do the Thais provide him?
