Local & European Elections 2014 - Need for information resource?

So it's that time again where I need to pick a candidate worthy of my vote in both the local and European elections.

What I find annoying is the lack of online resources for information. I might have missed something here and if so, maybe somebody could point me in the right direction, but is there no impartial, official state resource where we can get a breakdown of candidates in each constituency (first and foremost) and furthermore, an information section on each candidate, the information of each provided by the candidate themselves, outlining some of their policy ambitions, goals for term in office and / or a statement on their reason for running.

If the above does not exist, how do I gather a list of candidates in my area (Dublin Bay South I think it's now called? It used to be Dublin South-East) and must I visit each candidates individual website to try and gather information on them?

I think you're in the Pembroke-South Dock consistency.
A list of candidates can be found here: http://www.dublincity.ie/YourCouncil/LocalElections/Documents/Notice_of_Nomination_of_Candidates.pdf

This is the first time in years where I am really putting the effort in and I can't find enough information on the candidates. There really needs to be a website with all the profiles of candidates for any elections. I have been googling for a good half an hour and I keep coming across bias quotes and opinions for different candidates.

I will be voting in Kerry but I still want to see all candidates in Ireland.

    Any links?

The European Parliament voting records seems pretty well covered by
    http://www.votewatch.eu/en/european-parliament-members.html?limit=50

Filter by Country:Ireland and you can find out quickly what committees each MEP belonged to; what questions, amendments and speeches they've made.

Dublin South-East is a Dáil constituency, so it's not really relevant either to the locals or the European elections. For the latter you're in the Dublin constituency, and lists of candidates (and alternates) for all constituencies can be found on the European Parliament's website: http://www.europarl.ie/en/the_eu_and_you/european_elections_2014.html

For the locals, it depends what area you're in. There's a run-down of Pembroke/South Dock candidates here: http://www.lacy.ie/potential-future-councillors-of-pembroke-south-dock - but that might not be your area?

    cordially,
