job conundrum

So I have a full (ish) time job.
It's shift work and not the most fun of jobs.
I applied for a tco job and have recieved an offer for a 10 week position.
I don't know how much longer I can keep working where I am, the hours are getting worse and I can't remember when I last had a weekend off, but I have a family to support.

The civil service job would look good for any future jobs, but again it's not even 3 months.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice?

    Hi

I also did a tco job last year leaving a part time job to accept it. Just bear in mind the following , entry level wage, there was plenty of overtime in the dept. I was in and most people had their contracts extended until Christmas.
Obviously it will depend on your current salary. I was lucky enough to find another job after I had finished . Hope this helps.

Assuming the 10 week position doesn't get renewed,

    a) how long will it realistically take you to find another job (and get that first pay cheque)?
    b) how long can you survive being unemployed on your savings?

Is there anything you can do to improve your current job?
