Mk4 Gti Engine Oil

    can anyone recommend which oil is best for a 2002 GTi with 95,000 miles on it?

    Is 0w40 the best option or 5w40? Obviously a VW rated one

    Any thoughts would be helpful.

    I have the service book but it does not state what oil was used in it the last time.

    Get a 5w30 or 5w40 VW rated one.

    Castrol Edge or Mobil 1?

    Whichever is cheaper/easier available. These two brands are not what I normally go for but either one will do the job.

    I use Millers Oils in my cars (personal preference, I'm not involved in the company in any way). They make very good oils. You can check their website for distributors in your local area: http://www.millersoils.co.uk/distributors.asp?country=Ireland. Alternatively contact Peter: http://www.millersoils.co.uk/distributordetail.asp?cid=21795&country=Ireland - used to buy oils from up until now. Millers XF Longlife 5w30/40 is the one best suited for the engine of your car.
