Apprenticeship (Plumbing) - Colour Vision

Hi just wondering what the story is of late with colour vision testing when applying for an apprenticeship.. I know there are some older posts about this but none of late. Only this year has the rule come in for passing the ishihara test for plumbing (suprisingly) ..

I know that I have a very slight red/green deficiency but have no trouble whatsover distinguishing the colours via wiring/general items etc. So I was just wondering if I would be given the ok to complete an apprenticeship and was wondering how strictly they take it.

I imagine it's done the same way as an electrical apprenticeship where you have to pass the Ishihara test and submit it to Fas in order to get registered

That's sucks. I'm a colour blind plumber and it has never been an issue

I know it's a disgrace, I would understand maybe if I only could see in black and white haha, but all of my uncles aswell are plumbers for the past 30+ years and have never come across anything like it.
