I smell another cheap cartoon crossover.

Both shows are desperate now and so far past their prime they just need to end.

But the sad thing is I will still watch this and that's what they want.

    .
and go out with a BANG. This crossover nonsense goes to show the shadow of their former selves both cartoons have become. King Of the Hill died a dignified death of sorts just as duckman did.

^^^^^^ The jab at Bob's Burgers

Its actually doing better than the Simpsons ratings wise right now

Stewie's attempt at a joke to mean mo for his phone prank confirms my quitting as a fan for either show: "rape" humour will just go down the wrong way with me.

Having recently watched Bob's Burgers (series 1 to be precise), it's some cheek to have two shows in near terminal-decline taking a jab at a much superior, smarter show. It's not the best animated comedy out there, but it's streets ahead of Simpsons and Family Guy. Especially the latter: I'd sooner watch latterday Simpsons than Seth McFarlane's hacky autopilot.

Just because they can, it doesn't mean they should.

The Simpsons will be remembered as not just one of the best animated shows, but one of the best TV shows ever made.It was nothing short of genius up until 4 or 5 years ago.

Family guy, after you get past the first few series is just boring and repetitive.
It has occasional brilliant moments but the Conway Twitty humour and stupid Americanisms really annoy me.
Plus the fact that nearly every episode is based on the plot of old Simpsons episodes.

Why has the Simpsons got so bad.

I watched the last few new ones and found homer is in it very little and doesn't get up to all sorts anymore.

I actually thought I would never say this but it has actually gone real bad and not even funny.

The old stuff is great and still watch but oh my god what have they done...

    Just watched this.

It's pretty crap and it's blatant that it's written by just the family guy staff. Pretty much the whole episode can be summed up as "Woah we're so meta!"

If you were never a fan of family guy dont watch it as no matter how bad the simpsons get they are still better then family guy and this will just pull them down more in your eyes.

Family guy fan? Well this has nothing really new or fun in it.

Frankly I really only laughed at one joke
german porn shop selling peter/homer gas porn video. Which i admit was very good and gave me a proper long cuckle but it was ruined when the next joke seems to be almost the exact same idea but even longer and blatant

Current "Simpsons" is no better than Family Guy and hasn't been for a good while now. Last night's episode was horrendous for example. The B plot was a total of about 10 lines of dialogue and all exposition. Awful, awful stuff.

Two very poor shows made on very poor crossover episode.

I thought it was good with the exception of
    the ridiculously long fight scene
    . Typical Family Guy style.

That was the most painful 43 minutes of my life. I didn't even titter once, let alone laugh. Ugh.

I feel the very same. It was actually better than I was expecting.

    I really liked the
courtroom scene where 'alike' characters were sitting beside one another: Adam West/Quimby, Cleveland and Quagmire/Lenny and Carl, Consuela/Bumblebee Man, Seamus/Capt McCallister and my personal favourite James Woods/James Woods

I'm currently watching the Simpsons/Futurama cross over. By Christ it's awful.

Futurama didn't deserve to go out like that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,426 ✭✭✭Roar

It wasn't as bad as the Family guy one, but it was pretty poor. At least I got a few laughs out of the Futurama episode.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 36,711 CMod ✭✭✭✭pixelburp

I haven't seen the crossover episode, to be honest I'd rather not because crossovers are usually so creatively redundant, but my love for Futurama has cooled since it went off the air, particularly given how its own quality levels tanked during its final fling. I guess cancelled / ended shows tend to evoke more teary-eyed nostalgia than ones overstaying their welcome, but Futurama wasn't that far above Simpsons quality in seasons 6 through 7.

I just watched the Futurama/Simpsons thing.

It was pretty dire but I did laugh more at the background stuff than the main story.
    eBook of Mormon.

And at least they acknowledged how awful cross over ideas are and was better than the Family Guy episode.

Why did Futurama have to look so crummy in that episode? :(

    Oh and
never noticed the glasses similarities between Frink and Farnsworth before
    ... I feel foolish >_<

Like most Family Guy episodes, even old ones, I didn't laugh at this but I enjoyed it!
