Two properties listed with the same estate agent

We are looking to buy our first home.

We have seen two houses in different areas, both of which we like.
One is a smaller, urban detached home in a small, well finished development asking approx 150k. The other is a larger, rural, detached home out on its own, estimated value of 180k. Despite the price difference, each has appealing features and we would happily settle in either.

Ideally, we would like to make an offer on both to "hedge our bets", given the market.

However, both properties are listed with the same estate agent.

Is it advisable to do this? Would an auctioneer accept this?

They act for each client individually but would this be seen as a kind of time wasting?
Might it negate any bargaining power we would have, given that all our eggs are in their basket?

    Any opinions welcome.

Put in an offer on the one you want most and give them a time frame to respond. Then move on if necessary

Get your solicitor to put the offer in on one of the properties for you.
