POE cameras + POE Switch + Controller

    Hi,

    I'm thinking of putting in a DIY CCTV system and of running everything over IP. I have a good understanding of networking.

    Placing a 4 or 8 port POE switch in attic.
    Running CAT5-6 cable to each POE IP camera placed on soffit. Each camera will be given a static private IP address.

    The controller/recorder is where I'm a noob. I want something to be able to view all the IP cameras, record, scart/hdmi out and be accessible from across the web.

    Has anybody a similar system to what I'm proposing? If so I'd love to hear about the kit you put in.
