Parking at Larne

We'll be taking a ferry from Larne as foot passengers later this summer.
We had planned to drive and park there, but a friend from Northern Ireland recently warned that it might be risky to park a republic registered car at the ferry car park for 5 days.
Does anyone have any experience/opinion on this?

dont know about a southern car specifically but in any longterm/transport carpark such as that, anything that made the car stand out would be a worry...

There is a 24/7 car park at the port so it should be fine there; no worse than any other long term car park would. If you are worried about your car then maybe get the bus or train to Larne.

If using public transport to travel to the port the train is best as it goes right to the ferry terminal building which is integrated with Larne Harbour train station. I'm not aware of any scheduled bus to the ferry terminal itself though there are buses to Larne town around a mile away.

It's a reasonably pleasant rail line and the trains have free wifi.

Catch the train from Belfast Central or Belfast Great Victoria Street (the latter is integrated with Europa Buscentre).

    Train timetable here:

Fares can be checked here (can be bought at the ticket counter on the day).

Hope the foregoing info is of some assistance. There's a café cum shop in the terminal building to pass the wait.
