text on the racing uk channel on sky hd box gone

A friend has an amstrad sky HD box and enjoyed the text services on the racing uk channel but with the lastest software update this facility has gone. Its still available on the old SD boxes. Is there any work round to get it back on hd box?? He does not subscribe to the channel
