    Hi there,

I'm rather new to the cycling scene (just bought my first road bike recently). Firstly, I was just wondering is two months enough training for a cycle to Cork. I want to take a trip to Cork in two months time. Secondly, what sort of daily training routines or exercises would you recommend for a beginner?

    Thanks

EDIT: I'm leaving from Dublin City Center

Group spin or solo? If you are new to the bike and its a solo spin, then unless you have a good endurance engine, I wouldnt recommend it. For a group spin, then its managable, provided that the pace is controlled.

You need to go out for a long spin on weekends and aim for 80-100km. Its the best way to test you, your bike, clothing and eating strategy. You can ride 30km on a high nellie, jeans and sandals and just plain water. For 200+ km you need a bike in good condition, good cycling clothes, and a proper nutrition plan (e.g. eating every 30 minutes, stopping every x minutes / km).
