Hey. My passat is having starting trouble in the morning time, when i start the car it judders and sometimes cuts out, but when i go to pull off the odd morning there is a complete lack of power in the car for the first 4 seconds, i did replace the coolant temp sensor a while back with a spurious one, could this be causing the issue?

sounds more like fuel supply, was diesel filter changed recently, could be coolant sensor but spurious are usually ok though. try diagnostics on it if you know a friendly mechanic usually around €30 will tell accurately, other sensors could be acting up, a friend replaced turbo twice before diagnostics showed sensor fault, it needed cleaning

not unless a seal is twisted and that is unlikely, thought it might be blocked or contaminated with water.just check around engine for loose connections.

unless washed diesel and that would sound like ball bearings falling into plastic cup when revving under strain.

id still get vag diagnostics, usually accurate
