Shrinking Polyurethane Leather Jacket

    Hi,

Does anybody have any experience of shrinking a polyurethane leather jacket? I currently have a jacket that is one size too big and am looking for any suggestions or advice.

A couple online suggestions say to wash the jacket in the washing machine on warm setting. Then slip it into an old pillowcase and put into the dryer. Tie off the top with a shoelace to prevent it from falling out. Set the dryer on high. Let the cycle go for about an hour. Allow the jacket to cool off, then test fit. Repeat the cycle as needed, using progressively shorter drying times until the piece fits just right.

Anybody any experience of the above?

Do you know anyone who might be able to take it in for you instead? The washing machine/dryer could damage it.
