Constantine the Hellblazer TV show

I'm sure most are writing this one off before it even begins but based on the trailer it would appear that Constantine could actually be quite good. The trailer is a little bit fantastic and the essence of the character seems to be intact. Now, I don't see it going to many of the places the comic does but that could be a positive. Much as I love the comic there's a lot that wouldn't translate on-screen and hopefully the TV show will create an identity of it's own.

First trailer I saw was awful. Seems to have actually just been a clip from this whole one. Looks pretty good, despite the main actor being very annoying... I'll hold off on judgement....

I'll be taking a look at the trailer when I get to a proper computer tomorrow (stuck on my phone atm) but I'm intrigued rather than excited by this. The production seems to have gone to some effort to cast the part well, but on the other hand it's going to be an NBC show and we all remember what they managed to do with Heroes - so I'm not going to get too excited.

The trailer has a very The Dresden Files by way of Supernatural feel to it which may not be a bad thing. There is a sense that they are respecting the character and what makes him who he is, which makes a nice change of pace. I think that with NBC and Friday nights all it needs to do is respectable numbers and it should do alright. Hopefully they give the writing staff the creative freedom to make the show their way and not repeat the mistakes of the past, NBC have a horrible habit of finding something great and then ruining it.

Like the trailer but my experience with Hellblazer is limited to the first few issues and Keanustine.

Apparently Ryan's doing the Scouse accent. However, all I hear is Edward Kenway. ;)

To be honest his accent sounded a bit too much like Bad Colin Farrell Knock-Off to me :|

Having said that, it looks like they've got the excellent Harold Perrineau in as Gabriel, so I'll probably check out the first couple of episodes and see how it shapes up.
