    Hi folks.

Is anyone having problems with facetime? Haven't been able to use it on weeks over a variety of accounts and devices the last few weeks.

Devices: iPad 2, iPad HD, iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iMac and macbook.
IOS versions: iOS 6 and iOS 7 (depending on age of device)
    Accounts: four different apple logins
Locations: 3 in Ireland and one in the US

Have looked online and have tried deactivating all the devices and reactivating them to no avail.

Still the same thing - call is answered, says connecting then connection failed.

The grand parents bought iPads specifically for facetime so this is a pain in the Arse (Skype quality ain't as good).

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Quad

Have seen and read about this problem in the last few weeks. Seems upgrade to iOS 7 (where possible) solves the issue. If the person you're trying to call is not on iOS 7 you'll get the same failure <-likely the cause if your issue, grandparents not updated to iOS7?

Btw heard of this thing called google;-) (only joking)

    What's an iPad HD?

Convenient way to scupper the jailbreakers for a while if you hadn't updated to 7.0.4 and were holding out on 6.x.

But no good to those using older devices and don't want to upgrade to the latest 7!!!
I've experienced this, using my 5, running the original 6 software. Hate the new version and after it buggered up the wife's 4s didn't bother upgrading.

So apple put a gun to its loyal users to upgrade or lose functions now is it!

Yeah I agree. Imagine the outcry if Microsoft gave up support for a product after a year or so. But Apple seem to able to get away with forcing whatever software they like onto people.

Inevitably it will just push people to use 3rd party apps instead and Apple will shoot themselves in the foot.
