    Hi,

My car was broken into last night through the fly window. Its an old 98 clio so no alarm or anything on it. Radio was taken also but i came here to ask if its difficult to replace the fly window myself and if it is can anyone recommend someone to do it.

Picked up the window for €20 off of a local breaker. He said ive to remove the door frame and the center bar that separates the fly from the main window. So can anyone tell me if its doable and what tools would i need to do it.

    Thanks.

I did it on a 99 Fiesta, its doable. Tools you will (probably) need are srewdrivers/spanners, drill, hss bits, pop rivet gun and rivets.

    Basic steps are

    1 remove door card

2 (possibly) remove the winder mechanism. To do this I hhad to drill out the rivets holding it in place, as the main window wouldnt drop low enough to remove the seperating bar otherwise.

    3 unscrew/bolt the seperating bar.

4 remove old glass and fit fly window

Fitting is the reverse of removal.

This is basically the job, obviously being a different car you may encounter other issues.

Report back with success, or issues to resolve
