Servicing a baxi solo 2

I was just reading the baxi solo 2 50pf boiler servicing and installation manual and in the servicing procedure section it states the boiler main burner injector and pilot injector should be removed/inspected and cleaned as necessary on a service. My question is in the real world and from your own experiences do the injectors actually get removed and cleaned on a service? Or maybe more so to the point on this boiler? Cause I really doubt a service engineer would actually even think of removing both injectors and inspecting and cleaning them on a service unless there was an ignition problem that indicated that an injector was partially blocked.

Takes literally 5 minutes to remove/clean and refit both injectors , I'd like to think everybody does it but your probably right in saying plenty wouldn't. Baxi solos are the most straight forward easy boiler to service , so not removing these is just pure lazy IMO .

Very true and apart from all the safety checks. All that has to be done on a service of a baxi solo 2 is to clean the combustion box, fan, heat exchanger, and your pilot and main burner injectors, re-commission boiler and test for soundness, simple little boiler to service.

That's what a gas service engineers is trained to do to prevent issues with blocked injectors occurring in the first place.

Yep but my point is i bet most engineers out there would not even think of removing the injectors and cleaning them on a service cause on most boilers it's not a requirement to remove and clean them on a service.

What do ye guys use to clean an injector? I just use good old vinegar, seems to do the trick. Is there cleaner on the market that any of ye use that's pretty good.

Sorry folks, it's inappropriate to discuss way and methods of servicing here, please move RGI type discussions to the RGI tech forum. Thanks
