So with the lack of available time to hit the range/practice ground I wanted to see what tips/movements you do at home to keep limber?

I recently bought a mat and a pitching new and also a impact bag to at least let me get the feeling of swinging holding the club. Anyone any additional tips that you use?

If you have a back garden or any grass area practice pitches and chip and runs.
Focus on where you want the ball to land, forget about where it finishes up.
Very good for touch and very easy to transfer onto the course, you just adjust the landing point based on the speed of the greens.

Garden went down over the weekend so she might kill me if she sees me on it with a club. I have been using the mat for pitching but the issue is me catching the ball fat around the greens which is not really helped by the mat (me thinks)

Putting on the carpet is keeping that end of the game sharp but lacking the bedding time for changes to the swing. Even resorted to using the babies plastic clubs for practice :p

I did three drills that stick out, that were exclusively for home.

    1) I changed my grip two years ago and wanted to make it second nature asap. Snapped the shaft on an old club up to the point of the grip. Marked out on the grip where my hands where to go. When I was watching TV I'd sit there holding the grip. Of course looked like an arsehole, got fierce slaggings from the misses, but it rapidly sped up the time it took to make it feel natural.

    2) I wanted to change my swing plane from a fade to a draw. Was doing it mostly in the driving range, but did some work at home. Few minutes every day went out the back, threw two washing baskets down upside down, set to the way I wanted the club to move on impact. Again, just sped up the process of it being second nature.

    3) Putter alignment. Wasn't happy with the way my stroke was going, so got two pieces of wood, and joined them together parallel, long enough to cover what could constatute takeaway and impact. Would just stand over it and smack the putterhead against the closed segments of the wood for about 10 minutes a day. Low and behold I rarely to never close or open my face on impact, and it doesnt cut or block.

Three simple drills that had massive impacts for me. I think improvisation is a big thing. If there is something you want to work on, there is normally a way you can do it at home, and being able to do a few minutes every day drstically increases how quickly it will stick

    simple putting tip.

take two big ass books, golden pages etc, place them on ground with a gap between them just wide enough for you putter to move freely up and down the gap.

this will help you bring the putter back and follow through on a straight line.

I recently bought one of those Rukket nets. I'm finding that just hitting 100 shots of an evening is doing wonders for my irons. Not getting too technical just working on finding the sweet spot.

Bit of old deep pile carpet and some of those plastic practice balls and I just beat them against the back of the house, their flight is quite realistic which gives good feedback.

I found the net very forgiving, lots of my beautiful (dare I say "pure"?) strikes were actually big feck off hooks or slices.

I was wanting a good net to hit balls into, but gave up in the end and just bought one of these.

Its not bad, I suppose anything were you can take a full swing is going to help, but doesn't give any feedback and its probably best for warming up before hitting the course for an early morning round.

I tried some practicing in the back garden yesterday evening.

My garden is way to small for practicing in. Even lob wedge pitches, lol. Skinned a Pro v over the wall. Had to go into Super valu to beg the manager to let me into their work-yard area so I could go get it back :)
