Hi folks, can anyone give me a few pointers - thinking of biking it up Friday then taking my kids (4,9 & 11) on Saturday. Leaving Dublin Friday morning @ 8 (after night shift) leaving castleblayney Saturday morning. Where should I aim for? When do I/we need to get there?
    Thanks

    Portstewart

you can watch from york corner or anywhere on the golf course right up to the start/finish line,
loads of traffic will converging to the triangle on saturday morning from every direction, so the earlier leave the better, park anywhere you can in portstewart town because you'll not get parking anywhere near the circuit so be prepared to walk quite a bit!

The golf course would be a great place for the kids with plenty of room with the option of leaving whenever you want without having to wait for the roads to open! the further you go up the course the view becomes restricted so just up a bit from york corner, you get to see them streaming into york corner.

You'll not see much in the way of biking action on Friday as there is no practice or anything, plenty going on around the paddock area all the same.

On Saturday for the big races (superbikes) try and get out to the speed trap it is simply awesome to watch and hear (if its calm you can hear the approaching for a good mile or so) then flying past at 200+MPH jostling for position on the run down to university corner. Words really cannot describe the sensation... and I'm a car man not a bike man at all.

Cheers man! No I thought I'd bike it there myself on the Friday just for the atmosphere & the buzz. Saturday ill have my kids in tow so ill be somewhat limited, but I'd love for them to see some race action.

There used to be a firework display at dusk in portstewart on the Friday night (not sure if there still is) although last time I was at it the "launcher" fell over slightly and shot all the fireworks pretty much into the water :pac:
