Best buggy for 3.5 year old

I'm in a situation where I have to buy a buggy for my 3.5 yr old. Had a car up to now but from next week i'll have no car. My older son goes to school & it takes me 45 min to walk there & another 45 mins home. Then another 45 mins to walk to collect him & another 45 mins back home. Its going to be tough for me with 3 hours of walking every day. My 6 yr old will cycle but the 3 yr old is extra slow & he has short legs too so he wont cycle. He has a scooter but will by tired after 5 mins so I cant see a way round it only to buy a buggy. What would be the best option for all the walking. He's not tall but weighs 2 1/2 stone. Thanks

You can get 14 inch bikes for short children , but you'll have to jog alongside them, my 3 year old cycles way too fast for me to walk beside her.

I have friends with a disabled child that age, who can't walk far. They use the out and about nipper.

We have a 14' bike that was my other sons & its too big for the 3 year old. I hadnt thought of the adult bike & bike seat but where would i put the school bags or the shopping etc? I havent cycled since i was a child

Both fairly popular on my school commute route. I'd imagine it would be fairly heavy to tow the bike and child if you have many hills on your route, but if it's fairly flat it should be ok.

I've seen quite a few people with these even with very small children, and it leaves you free to use your back carrier or backpack for shopping etc.

Also means you have more of the 3 hours you'll be commuting to do other stuff!

School bags / shopping go in a basket on the front, or hooked onto the back.
Get yourself a nice bell too.

I think a bike solution might be the best for that distance, your 3.5 year old will get to 4 fairly quickly and buggy will be no good again. My 3 year old would have a fit if i tried to put her in a buggy, thinks she is fully grown up now.

My neighbour uses a maclaren for her 4 year old as he can be a bit slow walking!
