Laboratory Jobs

    Hello,
I need some advice please :)

I graduated 2 years ago with a bachelor of science (biology) degree. I have since been working in a small microbiology lab as a lab tech, I'm the only employee. I feel it's time to leave this place and I am looking for a new laboratory job. The problem is, all the jobs I find online seem to be in pharmaceutical labs and require GMP experience, which I don't have.
Am I right to believe that the only laboratory jobs available in dublin are in pharmaceutical labs? Is there any hope of me getting a job in one without GMP experience?

Honestly, I'm a bit clueless and have no idea where to even start looking. I have tried searching "lab assistant" on various recruitment and job search sites but nothing seems to come up.

    Please help! Thank you

There are other things you can do (in Dublin) with a science degree. Is lab work what you want?

That's the thing! I'm not really sure what kind of jobs I can get besides working in a lab :/
    Any advice would be great!

It can be difficult enough if you haven't done quite well in your degree to get taken on initially, it's often relatively hard to get a job without significant and relevant experience. GMP and related methodologies seems to be a big thing nowadays. I graduated with chemistry/biochem degree oriented toward the pharma industry.

Didn't get a job despite a lot of effort trying. I didn't do well enough to get into a grad program and it can be relatively hard to get taken on outside such programs without experience, you're often really dependant on an employer taking a gamble on you.

Looking to ge into IT now, I have interviews lined up for a sort of graduate program in the area..

Best of luck MrHorse, I'd just pply for literally everything you see, even if the job listing doesn't neccesarily fit you're experience/degree. The worse that can happen is you don't get the job.
